Avoid chlorine or chemical treated pools as well as saltwater or saline pools. Both are hard on your hair. If you do go for a swim, tuck dry hair into a swim cap. Some avid lap swimmers prefer to wet their hair to help keep the cap in place. If you like to do this, soak your hair in fresh water before putting the cap on. If your hair has already absorbed fresh non-chlorinated, salt free water, it has less capacity to absorb chlorinated or salt water. If you don't like to wear a cap, at the very least wet your hair with freshwater first. Condition your hair and use a leave-in conditioner after swimming. Buy Now!
